If the area is to replace a natural grass area, we will remove the grass and some sub soil, replace with a 0-6mm MOT type aggregate on a weed membrane, compact and level before installing the grass carpet. Depending on the area, we can top dress with dry kiln sand or fix with 150mm long nails.

We NEVER use sharp sand as a base, as this will migrate with rain/water to the lowest point and thus cause an uneven base and be lumpy under foot.
