Many people are now enjoying the sunny weather, BBQs are cooking and the odours wafting across gardens. People are now wanting a garden to entertain guests in, or relax alone or a mixture of both.
If your garden is over looked and you are wanting some privacy, some where to sit and relax and not worry about being watched, there are a number of ways in which we can build your garden for a private feel. We can divide your space into “rooms”, make winding paths to make the garden feel larger, or more intimate. A hidden seat, covered by a pergola or arbour, with sweet smelling flowers growing over, can provide that cosy, relaxing, hidden, private space.
A patio to entertain on, needs to be larger enough to accommodate a table big enough for all to sit at. How ever, a smaller table may be adequate with a retaining wall surrounding the area, which could double up as seating, so making a small patio feel larger.
Shaping the lawn or patio in a small space, can make the garden feel longer, and a hidden feature at the end of the garden can draw the eye away from the limiting space and encourage the viewer to seek the object out. A small garden can then be exciting and the lack of space easily and quickly forgotten.
Equally a large garden can be made more cozy by dividing the space into more manageable spaces, with the visitor wondering what is around the corner, a path leading nowhere, a path leading behind a bush… exciting, what’s around there?
